Welcome
Eat, Drink, and Be Happy

Ecclesiastes 2:24-25 says, “A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?”
Solomon repeats this sentiment 4 more times in Ecclesiastes. I agree with him- there is “nothing better” than to have food, drink, and good feelings about your work.
Through the years, I’ve chased after comfort from food, tried to find happiness in what I drink, and I’ve certainly strived to find satisfaction in my work. But like the wise teacher Solomon says- without God this is all meaningless, a chasing after the wind. By themselves, all my efforts and all that I get from them are hollowed out and eventually fall apart.
For me, the answer to what I’m after is hidden in the text- realizing that all of this is a gift! You can’t get what Solomon talks about unless it’s received from the hand of God. Truly, in every moment, even when I toil and work hard under the sun, I am at best simply receiving from God’s hand.
These paintings that I’ve made are about beer, friends, and good times. I hope you enjoy their vibrant colors and energy. But my end goal is far bigger and more audacious- that by pondering the good gifts we’ve been given, we may end up knowing the Giver more and more. I, for one, am thankful for His gifts, and even more that I can know Him.
Peace and Love,
Adam
